Consider the consequences when you continue to date or take your relationship to the next level. There are signposts that are palpable during a relationship, which indicate that its time to cease it. Here are clear signs that the relationship is not meant to exist anymore.
- Their absence relaxes you – If you live with your partner, and you feel more relaxed when they are out of the house, then it’s a clear sign that their presence puts you on guard. If you aren’t conversing freely on dates, and you feel uncomfortable with them around, it’s time to end the relationship. You mustn’t confuse this with shyness. It’s not the same as trying to maintain your image in the initial stages in the relationship. If your partner is well aware of your good and bad habits and you would prefer to be alone rather than be with your partner, end the relationship before the awkwardness seeps in.
- When you barely communicate – If you barely have face-to-face conversations or phone calls, and you don’t want to have conversations, then it’s evident. This relationship is now void. During dates, special events and serious situations, if you have nothing to say to the person beyond formal words, then you no longer connect to that person. There’s no point in continuing this relationship. During this stage, your partner is the last to know about any major/minor events in your life. You no longer feel the urge to tell them anything,
- When the sex isn’t as enjoyable – This is a surefire indicator. The sex isn’t thrilling enough. The level of satisfaction isn’t the same, as it was in the initial or during the best stages in your relationship. The number of times you have sex reduces, along with your drive.
- When you’re irritated by their idiosyncracies- If your partner’s behaviour irks you instantly, it is definitely another sign. Usually, couples get used to their partner’s idiosyncrasies. But if you’re constantly irritated by everything they do, and the simplest of their mistakes, it means you’re tolerating them and not loving them. Everybody has bad habits, but if their behaviour and mere presence drives you to the edge, the relationship has no future.
